your jumpy and a whole humpy

LEGO is perhaps the ideal toy. It fosters creativity, and from that creativity and freedom flow myriad works of breathtaking calibre. The LEGO fandom at its best is an incredible creative force, producing amazing works of scale and complexity beyond our wildest dreams, rendered lovingly in perhaps the most versatile childrens' toy there is.

That's not the part of the fandom we're here to celebrate.

This one's for the unintentional comedy the LEGO fanbase so often affords. The quirky, offensive, uneducated or otherwise unintentionally funny comments on forums and news sites alike. The fan art and writing of questionable calibre. The hastily slapped together MOCs. The senseless loldrama. And above all else, the people who take it all far, far too seriously. Ladies and gentlemen, here's to the very bottom of the barrel that is the LEGO fandom.

Now, if you're here looking for the really great stuff from the LEGO fandom, then you're probably looking for our other blog, the Solace of LEGOman Values. Alternatively, you're actually looking for any number of high-quality LEGO blogs, but hey, more doesn't hurt.

A side note: we (probably) don't hate you. We actually don't hate anything at all! We just find your words or actions really funny, and we're sharing the incredible mirth with the world.

Who is this crackjag guy anyways? Like, he has a tumblr, and he keeps bragging in the tag about taking th bzPower forums down, but is there context for this or what?
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

Apparently BZPower staff is NATSI COMUNESTS so he wants to take them down or something? idk.

I can't believe people don't want to see your stuff in the tag but think OC roleplay, yandere Vhisola blogs, and weeabooish anime aus are totally valid
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

I went into the tag to find a good example of exactly what you mentioned but got distracted by the instructions for how to build a Fatoran and drama about what should or should not be in the tag.

Please ckech out yudroniscrazy on tumblr. your hilarity is the only good thing that can come out of this `ms-paint-expressions-on-bionicle-figures-random-humour-my-13-year-old-brother-would-find-passe" abomination

I think we’ve already reblogged several of their posts, all with a comment along the lines of “I still have no idea what is going on with this blog”

Why is Phoenix one here? He uses RZ so isn't he naturally a brilliant and professional sprite comic?

Who wrote your terms of submission?
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

Judging by the succinct wording and overall “lazy” demeanor, I’d say holsety.

(SPEAKING OF WHOM: the general “instructions” on the submit page itself were me iirc, but that’s probably not what you were asking after.  the formal terms of submission document linked to in the submit box is just a global tumblr thing, the same on every tumblr blog with a submit box; we have pretty much nothing to do with those)

lol. I was asking what you think of it.
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

that’s exactly what we think of it

I guess I’ll spell it out: we don’t particularly care.  we’re neutral about its existence, just like we’re neutral about every other part of BZP. hilaribad stuff happens there, but come on, where doesn’t it happen on BZP?

so how do you feel about the Comedies forum?
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

it sure is a forum that exists, that much is certain

that Crack-Jag fanfic was the most beauftiful piost ever maade on bzp

Clearly you never read Toilet Tahi.

Vezon was fucking hilarious and you guys know it

It did me a lot of good to see you guys using the term "pretentious little BZP writing club". That's a thing that goes beyond just the Ambage and has been a source of a lot of stress for myself and others lately. Just check out the recent flowery apology(?) in the Epics Critic's Club or that overwhelming snobbery in the latest Library Discussion Topic. Ugh.
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

man I remember back in the day when ArtIII had a bit of a pretentious snobbery phase, from which I don’t think it ever recovered

I should admit that “pretentious little BZP writing club” wasn’t really based on serious or extensive observation of them or the broader BZP Library culture; the full extent of my exposure is their blogs, the main Ambage topic and occasionally taking a look at some of their (mostly Velox, Kraggh and Zarayna’s) stories (which I admit, pretentiousness aside, certainly aren’t the most awful things I’ve ever seen)

either way, consider my curiosity piqued.  I’ve already paid the Library Discussion Topic a brief visit (that’s actually how I found the book), though I wasn’t really looking that hard and at the end of the day I’m not ALL UP IN BZP’s library culture, so odds are I’ll be missing all the cues about this stuff

(side note: these guys fap over Les Misérables so much that they’ve pretty much completely ruined what I’m sure is a perfectly good movie for me and I can’t take it seriously anymore :( )

Thoughts on the Ninjago and Chima shows?
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

Appealing to children, I guess. I’ve only seen the Ninjago show, and I know it’s campy and cringe-worthy, but hey, whatever sells the toys, i guess.

[quick edit by holsety: I’ve only ever seen one episode of Ninjago, but it was so far superior to the HF TV show it’s not funny; it’s not exactly something I’d go out of my way to watch regularly, but I’ve seen worse… and that worse is the Chima show.  seriously what happened :( ]

Asker slaptheshack Asks:
Will you review Velox's book?
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

I don’t know about the other mods, but I don’t think it’s worth the digital ink it’s printed on. I’m not paying 99 cents to read that horseshit.

[very quick edit by holsety: remember it’s not just Velox’s book: some decent people like Kakaru also had a hand in it by the look of it.  still couldn’t be fucked to try it, but then again I almost never do online purchases.  maybe Lime will; dude’s all about ironic purchases]

(EDIT BY LIME: While I am in fact “all about ironic purchases”, something tells me this won’t really be bad enough to justify an ironic purchase. Let’s be realistic here, it’s probably pretty mediocre but not really laughably awful. Also I kind of have like no money right now so there’s that

I mean I guess the Peach 00 stuff might be amusingly bad enough to justify a purchase, if she’s even involved with this. I don’t even know if she’s part of the Ambage, I’m just kind of assuming that this mysterious organization includes like every pretentious BZP writer ever. But if Danger Close was ever published in book form I would totally buy the hell out of it)

your long askbox name kinda fucks up your blog when you view it in Chrome. It covers up the top of the page.
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

such is the price of a cheap laugh

(but seriously we’ll probably get bored of it and change it back eventually.  I admit things which cripple the style of the blog itself have never really been something we’ve thought about, given we mostly assume people just read us through their tumblr dashboards)

Is there a significant meaning behind your guy's URL?
lunacyoflegomanvalues lunacyoflegomanvalues Said:

I’m assuming you mean lunacyoflegomanvalues, in which case yes, it’s in our About Us page

What’s with the name of the blog?

“The Lunacy of LEGOman Values” is derived from the work of one Vezon the Piraka, a former member of BZPower reviled for his despicable treatment of other members and his gratuitously racist, Nazi-laden and generally shitty sprite comic work.  The name itself is a humourous take on his last sprite comic work, “The Lunacy of Earthman Values”, which was what ultimately got him banned from BZP (he still knocks around deviantART with it, but people just ignore him now).

It actually took a while to come up with that, and every other name we thought of was either terrible in general or a failed attempt at being funny.

Incidentally, the title “relentless quest for HATE DESPAIR” is just another VTP joke.  Arguably it’s the better of the two we’ve used here.
